20130625 22km loopTraining for an extreme-altitude expedition while living in the Netherlands, how do you do it? To prepare for a climb like ours a good training program should include high-altitude endurance activities. However, as local altitude is around 0,0m we have to stick with long distance running, cycling and overall (aerobic)strength training.

I’m training for 10 weeks now. I started small with half an hour runs in week 1 to finally a two hour run this week! A first for me, 22 kilometers in two hours! We still have 5 weeks to get in shape but at this moment it looks very promising.
